(UPDATED 8/17/2022)
How do we notify the Junior Phoenix program of a positive case?
Please email [email protected] with the following information: 1) who tested positive; 2) what day they were tested; 3) what day did symptoms start; 4) when was the last time your family was with your team (game, practice, socially).
If a player or coach tests positive for COVID-19, will the other teams be informed that a member of a team tested positive?
If someone (coach, player, parent) tests positive for Covid-19, the Junior Phoenix program requires they report it to [email protected]. The Junior Phoenix program will notify any teams that would have been exposed, without revealing the name of the person. Please keep in mind, if you do not report it to us, we cannot protect other players and families. It is up to our families to be upfront and honest with us.
Who will be notified if there is a positive case?
You will be notified directly that you or your family had potential contact with a Covid positive player or coach. We are respecting the privacy of our families by not publicizing positive cases, but we are not keeping secrets either. When we gather the information from a family with a positive case, we can trace back to the teams involved and alert them directly.
Are players required to wear masks?
At this time we are not requiring players to wear masks. The decision to wear masks will be up to the family and player.
Can we have a partial refund if we only play part of the season?
No, partial refunds will not be offered if you withdraw after you have registered which is our standard policy.
Will the number of spectators per game be limited?
At this time we are not limiting the number of fans attending games. We encourage anyone at high risk to stay home.
Will teams be able to bring team snacks for after their game?
Yes, we will allow "community" team snacks this season as long as they are individually pre-packaged items. No homemade snacks please.
Do I or the team have to quarantine if we have close contact to someone with COVID-19?
Close contact will no longer require quarantine. This includes if the close contact is with someone on the team. Following CDC guidelines, close contact will only require you to monitor for symptoms and wear a mask when possible. If you have symptoms of COVID-19, we ask that you stay away and get tested for COVID-19 and follow those guidelines for isolation. For safety reasons, no masks are to be worn under the helmet while in practice or game play, but can be worn at times the helmet is removed from the athletes head.
